Dr Chen is now an associate professor of School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology Shenzhen Graduate School. He has been working for years on the mechanics of unsaturated soils and its applications. He has expertise in testing technologies for unsaturated soils and constitutive modelling of unsaturated soils. He has published 34 articles, among which 21 are SCI/EI indexed, and also published one textbook.
