PERSONAL PROFILE
 
Hengzhi graduated from Shanghai University in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in applied chemistry in Professor Gong Hegui's Group. In 2017, he graduated with honors from University College,University of Oxford with a Ph.D. degree in organic chemistry with Prof. Stephen. P. Fletcher; During his PhD, Hengzhi has focused on research in the field of asymmetric catalysis , also hengzhi joined in pharmaceutical research and development internships with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and Merck (Merck) during this period. He has published part of his research in Nature journal and other high-quality international journals. He received the Univ GA Paul Scholarship from University of Oxford, the Outstanding Student Award from UK-China Association, and the National Outstanding Young Fellow Scholarship from Chinese Government. In April 2017, he joined Vertex Pharmaceuticals as Vertex Fellow and participated in preclinical drug development and drug production process research; Hengzhi joined the Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) College of Science in September 2018, and was selected as the “Top Talent Youth of Harbin Institute of Technology” in 2018; also was selected for the National Young Talent Program in Shenzhen.
